EMBER
Lighting fixture design constructed completely out of cardboard and museum board, held together solely by mechanical interlocking schemes. Design was inspired by the concept of fire and burnt paper and developed into a burning book sculpture. A candelabra-base switch cord was incorporated into the spine of the book and the socket remains accessible for easy lightbulb replacement. Pieces were laser cut and tested for press fit before assembly. Once assembled, pages were singed on the edges.
